Xtreme Fat Loss Diet Day 6
by Scott Tousignant · Filed Under: Nutrition
Day 6 of the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet is another cheat day and boy did I ever cheat… which brought some very interesting thoughts for me. I’ve never been a fan of cheat DAYS. I prefer a cheat MEAL. Typically, once a week my family and I have pizza for dinner and I usually grab a chocolate bar too. That always ties me over for the week. Sometimes I’ll have a chocolate bar mid week as well. The other days my eating is very healthy and quite predictable.
With these cheat days (knowing that the next day is going to be a fast), I have eaten more junk than normal and stuff that I typically wouldn’t eat. For example, I today I had boxed cereal for breakfast and a Wendy’s Baconator for lunch. I haven’t had boxed cereal or a fast food burger like that in ages.
I understand the point of a cheat day, but if I’m looking at overall health I need to be cautious of what I’m doing on this cheat day. It’s amazing how this change from cheat MEAL to cheat DAY has created a shift in my mindset. It got me out of my cheat MEAL mentality, which I was plenty happy with.
Here’s what I ate today…
Corn Pops
Pasta salad
eggs with toast
Wendy’s Baconator
Kit Kat Chunk Bar
3 home made lean burgers
Another Kit Kat Chunk Bar
Starbucks Tall Green Tea Frappacino
2 cookies
Corn Pops
When I look at that list I’m a bit disgusted with myself even though it was a cheat day. That’s just way to much man made crap in me that I typically wouldn’t allow.
So my plan… Next cheat day I’ll stick to the cheat MEAL instead and go with something like my usual pizza and chocolate bar. I will still increase my calories for the day, but it will come from healthier foods such as some of the starchier carbs that I enjoy, like sweet potatoes, and more oatmeal. I love that stuff and am addicted to it
The workout today was awesome. It seemed like such a break to only workout for 30 minutes and not have to do any HIIT or moderate intensity cardio.
My body feels awesome! For the past three days I haven’t felt like I’m on a diet at all. It’s kind of weird.
I couldn’t believe the words that came out of my mouth today when I was talking with Angie. I told her that I was actually looking forward to the fast day tomorrow
WOW! That was a huge surprise to me for even thinking that, especially since the fast day was the biggest thing that I feared about the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet.
Having gone through the experience of the first cycle I am more prepared for what’s to come this week and I totally know that I can handle it.
I’ve taken what I learned from the experience of the first cycle and the second cheat day and will be applying some minor changes during the second cycle to accelerate my results.
I still can’t believe that I’m actually enjoying this experience. I’m shocked! I think it’s the excitement of the results that I’ve experienced so far along with my intense desire to achieve my goal plus the idea that it’s a short term challenge that’s forcing me to stepping out of my comfort zone.
Let’s see how I do tomorrow
To achieving your limitless potential,

Thanks for posting on the blog. I bought the program and really am anxious to start, especially after reading your daily post. I don’t have access to the BCAAs and protein powder Joel suggests for at least a week. Do you feel the stuff from the local Vit shop is good enough for the first round?? Keep up the awsome work! I’m sure you’ve inspired a lot of people who were on the fence about starting to take the plunge!
I got the BCAA’s from my local nutrition store. I’ve been getting Prograde Protein and supplements for 3 years and they are the only company that I can really vouch for. However, if you are just using another protein powder for the first cycle you’ll be fine.
Scott I have enjoyed reading your blog. I bought the program and I don’t know if I am missing something or if Joel just didn’t put in specifics. I am confused on when to take the BCAA’s on my fast day. Do you take them before your morning workout, and after? When and how much should I take throughout the day? I weigh 140 Body Fat %17. I also am confused about Shake days as far as when to drink them in relation to workouts. I am on Day 3 right now but I’m not sure if I am timing my bcaa’s and shakes correctly. Any suggestions would be great. Congrats on finishing cycle 1.
The calculations for how much BCAA’s you are going to require for the day are on page 21. Break that up into 5 meals and I would follow the typical meal timing from the other meals. I had the first one as soon as I got up and then the second one immediately after my morning workout. Then I spread the remaining three throughout the day.
The recommendations for the shake day are based around a morning workout. I made sure that I had a shake first thing in the morning to make sure I had energy for my morning workout. Then I consumed the next shake after my workout, and once again, spread the rest throughout the day. The P + C should be in the first three shakes, but if you are working out in the afternoon, save a P + C for after that workout and have a P + F earlier in the day instead.
Thanks for the help. I don’t know how I misunderstood the BCAA’s. So I should be taking 7 pills 5 times a day on my fast day. 7 right before my am workout and 7 right after and the rest spread out throughout the day? I’m just a little slow. Correct me if I’m wrong. How much and when you you take BCAA’s on the other days of the cycle? Then on Depletion (Protein) day do you have a shake before your Morning lactic acid training or BCAA’s? I have read some articles about benefits of doing lactic acid training on an empty stomach. Again I just want to be doing this as correct as possible to get the best results. I really appreciate your support.
hi scott. Ive recently been a big fan of the joel marion way. I mean who doesnt want to have a whole cheatday?=) Ive been on the abs diet for awhile, and it only has 1 cheatmeal a week. I have his book. The cheat to lose diet. Anyway, dont you feel overtrained? i mean your lifting 5 days a week? plus intervals twice a week.
The 25 day plan is definitely over-training. I felt sore the first 5 days because my body wasn’t use to that style of training, but I’m fine now. Some people are still sore after 10 days. It’s temporary over-training. I’ve done temporary over-training before and actually gained muscle, but there was a different meal plan in place.
hahahahaha…that cheat day list of foods made me laugh and feel a little gross because i’ve done similar stunts like that too
i find that eating something sugary and refined tends to set me up and make me crave more then all hell breaks loose
I’m currently on my first Fast Day. I’m having trouble keeping the BCAA capsules down with no food on my stomach. Any suggestions?
Lots and lots of water is all I can say. I experienced the same problem and feel that the dose of BCAA’s is a bit excessive.
