Xtreme Fat Loss Diet Day 5
by Scott Tousignant · Filed Under: Nutrition
I can’t believe how quickly this first 5 day cycle of the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet is flying by. I’m definitely not alone in this feeling. Today the goal is to consume nearly all of your calories from protein. This raises mixed feelings from the members of my support community. Many people actually feared this day more than the fast day. It can be tough to plan for an all protein day and some people just can’t go without carbs.
You are allowed to eat as much veggies as you desire, which certainly makes this day easier for many people… and veggies are carbs, they’re just not starchy carbs.
Personally I love high protein days like this. I have a much harder time reducing protein than I do carbs. My day was very easy as Angie had made a gynormous chicken in the crockpot the day before.
My first two meals of the day consisted of chicken and veggies. Then I had a monster omelet with orange peppers and lots of tomatoes, plus lots of spices
It’s amazing how much protein fills you up. It appears that most of us were not able to get in our complete amount of protein throughout the day because were were not hungry. I ended up having a protein shake at night because I just couldn’t get any more food in me.
The design of the workout and the diet today is to deplete the muscle glycogen and triglyceride stores as we prepare for tomorrows cheat day.
The workout was a repeat of Day two’s lactic acid workout. I had to reduce the weight a little bit, but enjoyed the workout even more than on Day Two because I was more familiar with it. Some members of the community were actually able to increase the weights this time around.
I went for a 30 minute bike ride in the rain, which was really nice. The entire ride I was focused on my goal. I really used that time to visualize the outcome that I am expecting from the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet. My motivation is high and it has a lot to do with the incredible people in my support community. They really are amazing and making this journey way more fun than if I was to try it on my own.
I’m looking forward to the cheat day tomorrow, but I’m not really hungry right now so I’m not sure how I will feel tomorrow. My plan is to have Corn Pops breakfast cereal first thing in the morning. I haven’t had cereal for breakfast in years. I’m sure I’ll have a chocolate bar too… We’ll see.
Thanks for following my journey. Let me know if you have any questions. With one cycle down and four to go, I’m totally believing that this is something that I can absolutely stick with for a complete 25 days.
To achieving your limitless potential,

Scott Tousignant
PS I’ll be posting pictures and my results tomorrow after completing the first 5 day cycle of the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet, so be on the lookout!

I did not see as great results this first 5 day cycle. I lost 3lbs on the morning of Day 6, and I also know much of that was water. In the past, I could lose 6-7lbs in this amount of time just low carbing and weight lifting. Did not lose much in regards to inches either. I am 40lbs overweight, so I thought I would lose more, but then again I started the cycle during finals week, and did not get much sleep, and was extremely stressed out. Maybe it’s also because we are weight lifting daily, and possibly retaining water from that? I don’t know. I’m a bit disappointed, b/c the first week is always supposed to be the most weight loss b/c of the water weight. I hope that I don’t lose less than 3lbs on the next few cycles. But I’m going to push through regardless, since its only 25 days.
Hi Tina, congrats on your success! Celebrate this. Do not feel let down. 3 pounds in just five days is excellent. Judging by regular standards 2-3 pounds in a seven day period is outstanding.
I’m about to post my results for the first five day cycle and I’m quite happy because I finally busted through a bit of a stubborn plateau.
One of the members in my support community released 7 pounds during the first cycle, but on average it appears to be 3 pounds.
I was following Tom Venuto’s Burn The Fat, carb cycling approach prior to this and will be following it after. It was working as normal for me, but then I hit a two week plateau, which made this 25 day challenge perfect for me.
I’ve been drinking a ton of water, and I had to remember that this morning’s weigh in was after a day of eating just protein which takes longer for your body to digest and is probably still sitting in our system.
Take what you’ve learned from the first 5 days and use it to drive yourself forward during this next cycle. Take it one day and one cycle at a time.
Even if you “ONLY” release 15 pounds in 25 days, would you be bummed out? Should you throw in the towel because you ONLY lost 3 pounds in 5 days? Hell NO! Drive forward my friend. Make the most out of this 25 days and use these small victories to drive you forward for long term success!
Thank you Scott and Sherah for your support. I really appreciate the pep talk. I am definitely going to keep going. I was hoping to lose 15lbs at the end of the cycle, but even if I only lose 10lbs from it, it is still wayyy better than gaining. This week, I’m going to really push myself during the workouts, get more sleep now that school is over, and drink lots of water. I do feel that my body looks better in the mirror so even though the scale says 3lbs, I look tighter. Today was my fast day and also had awesome workouts. Except for the hunger, I REALLY enjoy the fast days. I feel so energized and light. I never ever thought I could fast 24hrs like this but it’s much easier than I thought, especially since I have much more energy than I thought.
You’re welcome Tina. And remember, out of those 5 days one of them was a cheat day… so really when you think about it, you lost 3 pounds in 4 days. That’s nearly a pound per day.
It’s always been about the look for me. I don’t care what the scale says if I continue to look better and better.
Tina, a thought I had regarding inch loss is that perhaps we are a bit swollen from working out so much with no rest. I started at 122 lbs and am at 120 still, on day 10. But I keep telling myself: LET THE PROGRAM WORK. Just don’t spazz out cuz I’m not seeing xtreme results – maybe the results, for me, will come in the last half.
Hang in there – we have to give it the whole time to do it’s work. (this is my pep talk for myself today, lol)
I forgot to mention that at the end of my first 5-day cycle I had lost 1.75″ (and the 2 pounds). Definitely not “xtreme” in my opinion, but we’ll see what results come in tomorrow, the end of my second 5-day cycle. I am pretty sure I lost another inch in my waist – but honestly, my waist fluctuates 2″ depending on what I have in my stomach/have eaten the day before.
I think women can bloat easier than men, and thus the up & down measurements. I usually bounce from 30″ waist to 28″ waist – I have NEVER seen 27″. Not since I was 18 (I’m 33 and have had 7 kids so this is a big goal of mine). If I end up seeing that number, and it remains there, it will all have been worth it for me.
The protein day is a little harder for me because I am a vegetarian – so meat is not in the picture. I *am* okay with eating tuna if I have to, but mostly my days consist of 3 meals of eggs w/lots of veggies, salsa, and hot sauce + spices. The other 2 meals I make a chocolate pancake made up of protein powder (chocolate), eggs, splenda, cinnamon, and vanilla. I eat it plain like if it were banana bread or something.
Today is my 2nd protein only day and it worked well last week – except like you mentioned, I was not able to get in my 5th meal. I just couldn’t stomach any more food so I subbed with a shake.
I really enjoy the Lactic Acid workout #2 – it’s my 2nd time doing it today.
Yesterday for my protein day, this is what I ate:
Breakfast: Shakeology Greenberry shake (from Beachbody)in ice cold water (Didn’t have time to make a breakfast of scrambled eggs)
Lunch: can of sardines in spring water
Snack: Prograde Protein shake in water
Dinner: 3 scrambled eggs in butter
I felt so full after eating these meals that I feel like my stomach had shrunk. I didn’t have any veggies as I thought we were only supposed to eat protein only. What did everyone else eat on the Protein Depletion day?
Can you post a link for your support community? I will be starting the program on Monday and would like to join.
Hi Felicia, it’s a private support community for the people who invested in the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet through my recommendation and affiliate link. Did you already get the program?
You’re more than welcome to post your progress here on my blog and ask some questions.
Hey Scott, just have a quick question for u. Do you use a heart rate monitor for the longer cardio sessions? And if so, are you able to maintain 80% of your max heart rate biking?
Hi Justin. No I don’t use a heart rate monitor. I just push myself as hard as I can.
Hi Scott,
Thanks for your helpful blog, it has provided good information to help me get through this plan. I am on day 5, it has not been as difficult as I had expected. I did miss one moderate 30 minute workout on day 3 because my legs were so sore, they were actually giving out. I have a question about day 5. There is a brief mention of taking an additional 5 grams of BCAAs in between meals on day 5. It is not specific about whether or not you do this in between all 5 meals, or just one time during the day.
Thanks!
I know it’s a 5 day cycle but what about the other 2 days in the week?
Hi Dave. After you complete Day 5 you go back to Day 1. It’s not a Monday-Sunday program.
