Angie asked me a very important question today, “Couldn’t you experience the same results as the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet, if you were to simply reduce your calories and workout more, without the need of having a fast day or shake day in a 5 day cycle?”

That is definitely a question that I am seeking the answer to and one of the big reasons why I’m following it. I want to experience the results and compare it to my more traditional fat loss approach which is Tom Venuto’s Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle plan. BFFM is more of a lifestyle approach and what I will be going back to once I complete this 25 day Xtreme Fat Loss Diet Challenge.

As I mentioned in my previous journal entry for Xtreme Fat Loss Day 1, prior to starting this plan I had been working out hard for the past two months and following the Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle plan and experiencing good results. But for some reason the fat was melting slower than it had in the past when I wanted to lean down for beach season. When I heard that my buddy Joel Marion was releasing the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet I thought it was the perfect opportunity to put it to the test and see if it could produce even better results during the short term.

Could the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet really help me burn this last 5-10 pounds of stubborn belly fat faster? That would be great news with a beach vacation coming up soon for us.

This is something that I am setting out to prove… whether it is indeed faster, or if the traditional approach is just as good. One thing is for certain… this is meant to be a temporary solution. The Xtreme Fat Loss Diet is not something that you want to follow for the long term. It’s designed to be just 25 days and then you move on. That’s something that I really like about the program. It’s a concrete deadline!

OK, so onto my day’s experience. I started the day with a yummy Prograde Shake… the same as yesterday, which included honey and oatmeal.

I performed the dynamic workout from the program, which was an absolute blast. I am so not use to this style of training and it felt great on my joints and really made me sweat. I’ve learned my lesson and have two hand towels at my side because these workouts leave me dripping wet.

It seem that everyone in the support community really loved this workout as well. It’s been great to do a different style of training each day. It’s been awesome for my motivation.

I’m definitely feeling sore and that has been pretty common as well. It’s been intense training and when you aren’t use to a certain style of training, your body has a way of letting you know ;)

It was really nice of Angie to give me a massage at night. It made a world of a difference and relieved my stiffness. I also used my foam roller to help loosen me up.

After the workout I had a chicken sandwich with mustard on whole wheat bread. Oh boy was it delicious! After going through a fast day and then a shake day it sure was nice to bite into food. (I could have had veggies on the shake day, but opted not to because I was satisfied from the shakes.)

In addition to the sandwich, the meal plan called for veggies and strawberries. To my surprise I was already satisfied after eating the sandwich and really didn’t need the veggies and strawberries, but I ate them to get the nutrients in me.

That seemed to be a similar experience with the members of my support community. We were full after eating such a little amount. I guess our stomach’s shrank a bit after the fast and shake day.

One of the common responses from Day 4 of the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet was, “Wow! I can’t believe all the food we can eat!”

Most people were very full after the day and couldn’t actually believe they were on a diet.

The calories were a few hundred higher than the previous days, but we still remained in a big caloric deficit, especially considering the activity we are doing.

In addition to the 45 minute Dynamic Workout session, I also did 20 minutes of HIIT going back and forth between jogging fast and walking. I felt a little tired on my run and didn’t get as far as I had on day 2, but I ended up feeling great by the end of the run.

Oh… something funny happened during my HIIT session. I perform it along the county road by my house, which follows the winding Belle River. There was a mother and father Canadian Geese crossing the road with their little fluffy baby goslings. I ended up getting attacked by them as I jogged by ;)

They didn’t clip me, but they hissed and chased me ;) That really got my heart rate going and forced me to pick up my pace LOL!

I also had an outstanding group coaching call with the members of my support community. We shared our experiences, and I answered some key questions that were on a few of the members minds. It’s really cool to chat with people who are going through the same experience as you are.

I am soooo ready to get in the best shape of my life. So far I’m doing really well and as many of the members have stated… with each passing day we are growing more and more optimistic that this plan will actually work and that we can stick with it for the full 25 days.

I did happen to sneak a bit of popcorn at night as we watched the Montreal Canadians beat the Pittsburgh Penguins in game 7. We use a popcorn maker with a bit of olive oil. I added the butter to my kids popcorn after I scooped out mine without the butter. It was a bit of a treat, but really not many additional calories and not bad at all.

I hope that you are enjoying my documentation of this journey. It sure has been a big help to me.

To achieving your limitless potential,
