Xtreme Fat Loss Diet Day 24
by Scott Tousignant · Filed Under: Nutrition
I sure am glad that today was a moderate carb day with the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet because I found myself really craving them. I started my day with a stuffed pepper that was left over from the dinner that my family had two days ago. I couldn’t wait to eat it. That stuffed pepper had been on my mind since the time Angie put it in the crockpot
You can find the recipe here: Stuffed Peppers in the slow cooker
About an hour later I did the workout and had another stuffed pepper immediately afterward. My next meal was yet another stuffed pepper… Can you tell how much I love them ![]()
My forth meal consisted of two scrambled eggs with red peppers and tomatoes as well as two servings of the healthy snack bars that Angie made. These snack bars really satisfied my carb cravings
My last meal was a can of tuna, some veggies, and another healthy snack bar.
In addition to the workout I also did 7 1/2 minutes of HIIT on my stationary bike consisting of 20 seconds of speed and resistance followed by 10 seconds of slow pedaling without resistance.
I’m feeling awesome today! I can’t believe that tomorrow is the last day of the challenge. I’m experiencing feelings similar to that of knowing that a vacation is going to be ending tomorrow and it’s time to go home. It’s really weird. As much as I’m looking forward to moving on to my next challenge, I’m going to miss this experience. It sure has been an interesting journey.
I’m looking forward to checking in with you tomorrow as I wrap up my last day.
To achieving your limitless potential,

I’ve got a question for those of you who are completing XFLD.
I’m about to start it and combine it with my P90X workouts – the first 5 days match up perfectly for fueling muscle building workouts and shredding body fat. It’s the other two days I have a problem with.
Would I be better off juggling my lifting/cardio schedule to cater to the 5 day diet or add, say, 2 extra protein days at the end of the 5 day cycle to coincide with my weekly workout routine.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Is P90X a 5 days on two days off?
There are many people who didn’t follow the workout program within the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet and some of them included days off and they still got really good results.
I wouldn’t worry too much about matching the workout perfectly to the diet. Workout the way you would have with P90X and follow the diet. If that’s what you decide to do I would love to hear about your overall experience.
Wow Scott, thanks for such a quick response!
P90X is pretty much alternating between strength building and cardio (and a really great workout)
Day 1 – Check/Back Cheat Day
Day 2 – Plyometrics Fast Day
Day 3 – Shoulders/Arms Shake Day
Day 4 – Yoga Light Carb Day
Day 5 – Legs Protein Only Day
Day 6 – Kenpo
Day 7 – Stretch or Rest
I figure most of the cardio/aerobic days are on no or low carb days helping with glycogen depletion and fat loss. But if I don’t alter the diet, by the third cycle I’m fasting on lifting days and carbing up on aerobic days which I think hinders what I’m trying to do.
If I add a two more protein only days for days 6 & 7 – I’m keeping my glycogen levels to a minimum which I think will allow me to cut more fat over those two days before the big feed day. And it seemed like everyone felt the best on the 5th day so I’m thinking why not extend it?
But I really don’t know.
Scott if you or anyone else has any thoughts on this they’d be appreciated. Otherwise I’ll go one way or the other and let you know how I’m making out.
Thanks for all your help.. great website.
Hi Tony:
I finished XFLD on Sunday. I did no cardio or HIIT, and I used my same weight-lifting program. It’s nothing special. I hit each bodypart hard twice a week and lifted 6 days a week, with a day off on Sunday.
All I can tell you is that my workouts went better than expected while on XFLD. I lost no strength (and gained a little) while losing noticeable fat. In fact, I’m very happy with the results.
Are the recommended programs better than my workouts? I’m sure. However, I lift with another guy and I didn’t want to disrupt our workouts. I was afraid that once I said, “I’m going to do a different workout for the next 25 days” I would find excuses to not stick to the XFLD routine.
So, in the final analysis, my suggestion is do the workouts that you’ll actually and consistently do. If P90X suits you and you’ll actually do it, then do that.
Just my 2 cents. Good luck.
hmmm… I’m not sure if there is a perfect answer here. Personally I would just stick with the 5 day diet cycle and follow the P90X plan as is. With Xtreme we do lift on fasting days and also do aerobics and HIIT. We do HIIT and lifting on moderate carb days.
