What Obstacles Have Stopped Your Fat Loss Progress Dead In Its Tracks?
by Scott Tousignant · Filed Under: Motivation

What’s going through your mind as you look at this picture of a massive boulder blocking the road and preventing people from reaching their destination?
Did you begin to feel sorry for those people thinking that they’ll never get to their destination because the path to get there has a giant obstacle in its way? Did you think that they’ll just have to settle for where they are at and get used to the fact that they’re just not meant to get to the place that they desire?
Seems kind of goofy doesn’t it? Although this obstacle is massive it can easily be removed by breaking away at it small chunks at a time, or simply blasting it away. And in the meantime I’m sure that the people who were following that path won’t just sit there and wait for something to happen… they’ll find an alternate route to get them to where they want to be.
Is this really any different than the obstacles you face along the path toward a sexy and fit body?
Like the boulder, many of your obstacles are very real. You may be on a medication that has a side effect of weight gain. You may have been diagnosed with an under-active thyroid. You may have arthritis. You may be a busy mother of six kids and very little time to yourself.
These are all legitimate obstacles that may make it more challenging for you to burn fat than some of your friends and role models. Although you may be faced with legitimate obstacles, there is no reason to use them as an excuse for not sculpting the body that you desire and deserve.
Rather than focus on these obstacles, I want you to shift your focus to the gifts and abilities that you do have, which you can make full use of and reach your fat loss destination.
This message rings clear in this inspiring and emotionally charged video of a presentation from Nick Vujicic.
Never Give Up!
Do you still think that you’ve got it tough? A video like this can sure put things into perspective. How could it be possible to live such a happy and charmed life when you don’t have any arms or legs?
Often times it’s not the physical obstacles that limit us… it’s the mental obstacles. Nick shifted his focus from the negatives and what he didn’t have and instead focused on what he did have and look at what he’s been able to get out of life in the process.
Now lets look at a similar situation and even more inspiring video of Dustin Carter that has a direct fitness message…
If Dustin can put that kind of intensity into his workouts even though he doesn’t have arms or legs… what’s your excuse for not giving each workout your very best?
I have one more inspiring story to share with you. It’s the story of Mike Winegarden, “The Crazy Blind Guy”. Not only is Mike blind, but his also half deaf.
Can you imagine what it would be like to try to workout, prepare healthy meals, and lose stubborn belly fat without your sight?
Despite these obstacles Mike was able to shed 40 pounds of unwanted fat and add some muscle to shape his body.
When you and I set our minds to achieving a fat loss goal we need to dig deep in order to find the strength within us to continue pushing forward until we have reached our destination. It’s tough and it’s a lot of hard work. Of course… it’s always worth it!
People like Mike, Nick, and Dustin have to dig even deeper to reach their goals and thank goodness they do, because along their journey they give us a glimpse of the human potential when you nourish your mind, strengthen your mind, and flex those mental muscles.
It excites me to see people like Mike, Nick, and Dustin sharing their experiences of overcoming the obstacles they’ve faced. Their words and actions can inspire a nation.
Mike Winegarden has a great program called “See Yourself Fit”
Nick Vujicic has a dvd called “No arms, No legs, No worries”
Dustin has a dvd called “No Legs No Arms, ALL HEART”
Your body and your health is a gift. The amazing thing is that you have only begun to tap into it’s full potential. Don’t take it for granted. It’s time to make full use of your gifts and abilities. It’s time to show the world what you are really made of.
If you are struggling to overcome some obstacles that are in the way of achieving your fat loss goals I would like to share two amazing free resources with you…
The first is one of my all time favorite interviews with fat loss expert Tom Venuto. This report and audio is called “7 Steps For Overcoming Limiting Beliefs” and provides you with a blueprint for blasting through your limiting beliefs and creating new positive beliefs that will serve you.
This next free resource is my book the “Fat Loss Quickie Motivation Report“. If you have been procrastinating and coming up with excuses for why you are not currently living in the body that you deserve, this free book will give you the kick in the pants that you’ve been looking for.
Both these resources will set you on the path of blasting through your obstacles and finally sculpting the body and life that you deserve.
Here’s to blasting through your obstacles!
To achieving your limitless potential,

I am so glad to see people finally adressing self limiting behaviors. Too often it is themselves that hold them back from accomplishing things and I honestly have to say I truly get tired of hearing the excuses. Anything can be modified or adjusted and accomplished if it is truly what you want. I have had one knee replacment and need another but that doesn’t stop me. I work around it and am amazed at what I can now do. And my other knee doesn’t bother me as bad as it used to. o figure. Thank you for a great post.
I’d have to say I was doing fantastic with working out for my first four months. Then what stopped me dead in my tracks was family. I was on my own for four months and then family came back and brought their bad eating habits with them.
It’s really hard to refuse food you know is bad for you but is right in front of you, especially when people are cooking it and feel it’s an insult if you don’t eat it. That family is gone again for a while but they’ll be back (with their bad eating habits) and so I need to be prepare, get really strong and ready to blast that boulder again when it comes!
But the good news is I’m starting my workouts again RIGHT NOW and committing to two per day, one litre of water per day and more fruits and veggies.

I was so impressed with the videos I sat there and cried. How can we feel sorry for ourself and make excusses when we see such motivated young people as these in this post. All I can say for me is shame on me and now its time for me to really get on track and at 52 get the lean sexy body I deserve and want. Its never to late.
