Thanks Scott, every post is awesome here on fatlossquickie.com, and I agree with everything you put out there! But I do disagree with one thing;) "There's nothing special about Angie & I."

I beg to differ! (I knew what you meant though;)

In TWO DAYS, (two days!) you 2 have motivated us to get with the program (your program lol) and want to stick with it. That makes you guys special in so many ways. Not just to my fiance and I, but to everyone here that has been lucky enough to come in contact with your website!

Looking forward to getting fit & staying fit,
Jessica

Jessica, I can't thank you enough for taking the time to add your thoughts and comments throughout our blog today. You've really made my day.

Working out with Angie and working with her has definitely created a load of happiness in our relationship. We are absolutely grateful for the life we live, our family, and our friends.

We love what we do and we love connecting with people like you. We don't hide anything. We pride ourselves on letting people into our lives and keeping it 'real'.

You're absolutely correct. Our physiques are definitely realistic for most people to achieve. There's nothing special about Angie and I and we do enjoy treats on occasion ;)

Thanks again for letting us into your life.

Another great post. Getting in tune with your mind and realizing that happiness is your ultimate goal when it comes to weight loss will keep you on track and off of a yoyo diet.

I just read the "workouts for couples" section and the first thing that caught my eye was the phrase "more love, less fat". My fiance and I are both traning to get in shape (he used to be a boxer in his 20's) but with him being 35, almost 36, it discourages him. He doesn't stick with it, because he owns a small business and he's tired at the end of the day. I've been getting him to run 3 miles in the morning before he goes to work and he's lost alot of excess weight that has built up over the past few years. HE has a weight bench that he uses at night when he gets home, but he doesn't stick with it after a week or so. I'll definitely get him to read up on these articles that will surely change his mind about his age holding him back from his goals!

Your wife and you look super happy together and I don't know either of you personally but you can tell, you get that vibe that by working out & staying fit together, you're happy with yourselves, and in turn happy with each other. You both exude confidence and look fabulous and I'm so happy that I (& my fiance) now have a realistic couple, with kids, to look up to! You two aren't some unrealistic fitness magazine hardbody couple with no kids that spend every waking hour in the gym, know what I mean!

Well, off to my workout and I look forward to both of you guys' help & knowledge to help the hubby and I acheive our dream bodies!

So true! There has to be a WHY and you have to keep sight of it. You can't let things distract you. With everyone having so much going on, it's easy to do that.
Happiness is the ultimate goal though! I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror when I was 230. I couldn't stand what I was seeing. Now, when I look in the mirror, I don't stand and criticize. I see a work in progress. And that's the cool part.
You'll like this one LOL! At work, one gal had said to me, "Cat your butt is higher". Well I just started laughing cause I don't know..I never look. A couple of weeks ago I was doing cable crunches and just happen to catch a glimpse. I was like "wow...ok now I see what she means". Brought a smile to my face. Those are the moments that you feel so great...Just want them to last forever.

Nice Scott. It's true our real motivation comes from how we think we will feel as a result of whatever we are seeking. Most of us aren't even aware that this is the source of almost every choice we make.

I think the idea of weight loss is painful for most people because no matter how much we want to release that extra fat, we know that consistency and commitment are a part of that journey, and the idea of giving up something that "feels" good to us - that we've substituted as a "reward" - is more painful than the idea of acquiring health and fitness is enjoyable.

Unfortunately with weight issues, those rewards have often become food or drink that does not nutritionally support our bodies, or activities (like watching TV) that do not support a healthy lifestyle.

It isn't until the true reward of optimal health and fitness becomes more important than the transitory "rewards" that we are willing to make the change. Unfortunately for many that only happens when the pain of their current reality becomes massive.

Fortunately, as we progress towards our goal, it becomes easier and more satisfying, making the journey itself a rather joyous event.

I say all this having been overweight for a good portion of my life. Having struggled for years trying to find the balance that would work for me, my body and my lifestyle.

With great good fortune I came across such a program last November, and am now only 20 lbs from my goal (having shed almost 55 lbs) at this point.

Successful changes require awareness, persistence, compassion and support. Leave out any of those factors and it's much, much more difficult to maintain the change.

I really like that you advocate for people to discover what works for them. I, like you, am not interested in working out in a gym all day. I'm much too busy with other things.

But I do love to dance, and that's something that's easy to do - just put on the music and I'm up moving around. And my goodness, it's SOOOO much more fun now that I'm not carrying around that extra weight!!

Thanks for reminding us all that it's a journey - every step and every moment. And it's an opportunity to keep rediscovering every day what inspires us to keep on that journey!!
