Tuna Pockets: A Healthy, Delicious, and Refreshing Meal
by Scott Tousignant · Filed Under: Nutrition
One of my favorite post workout meals that is a healthy, delicious, and refreshing comes from my partners at Prograde. It’s called Tuna Pockets and is from Prograde’s recipe book called 197 Healthy and Delicious Fat Burning Recipes.
I recorded a video demonstrating how quick and easy it is to prepare this tasty meal that is ideal on a warm day…
The ingredients are…
1 cup chopped cucumber
1 cup chopped tomato
1 can (6 oz.) white tuna in water, drained, flaked
1/4 cup KRAFT Light Ranch Dressing
4 whole wheat pita breads, cut in half
4 large lettuce leaves
Directions: Mix cucumber, tomato, tuna and dressing. Line pita bread halves with lettuce; fill with tuna mixture.
I added some ground black pepper simply because I love it
When you bite into this tasty treat your mouth will water. The tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce, and dressing really make this ‘pocket’ refreshing. It’s a 90 degree day here in Belle River, Ontario and the Tuna Pocket was the perfect meal after my workout.
This is just one of many easy to make healthy recipes from Prograde’s 197 Healthy and Delicious Fat Burning Recipes.
The digitally downloadable recipe book includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desert recipes and it’s dirt cheap at just $4.95!
You’ll gain instant access to the recipes and can try the Tuna Pocket and many more in a matter of minutes after you download it.
Angie and I love trying new recipes and sure is handy to have 197 healthy and delicious fat burning recipes at our finger tips and we are certain that you’ll enjoy it too!

Thanks for posting this video. I’m always looking for good recipes that won’t take me an hour to make.
Plus with summer around the corner this will be perfect to add to my recipe list!
You’re welcome Josh! You’re totally going to love this one. It really surprised me at how tasty and refreshing it was the first time I tried it.
Thanks Scott. How much Tuna do you consume a week? Do you worry about Mercury at all?
I only have one or two cans of tuna each week. I’m not worried about the mercury. If I worried about everything they say about food I would be completely stressed out and would hold my breath and refuse to eat anything or drink anything for fear that I might die from it.
I’m going to make this recipe this weekend. Looks yummy and filling. Thanks for sharing. One of the best things about it is it’s quick. I’m always on the hunt for healthy quick recipes.
Hey Scott!
Great video man! Definitely going to try it out…
I always look for the big three:
1. healthy
2. tasty
3. easy
Nice work!
Thanks!
Mike Arone
Looks tasty Scott!
I am a big tuna consumer and always looking for new ideas. Never tried the Ranch dressing but might be a good alternative to light mayo. It would be nice to give us a calorie count on the foods you prepare so we can find better options.
Thanks for keeping it simple and easy for us.
Great recipe. I do something similiar but instead use light mayo and eat it with water melon and fresh bread on the side. It’s amazing!
