Healthy Family Dinner

In today’s Fat Loss Quickie “Day In The Life” video, Angie and I share one of our favorite healthy dinners that our kids also really enjoy. The healthy dinner is homemade Shepherds Pie. I know that there are a variety of ways that you can make Shepherds Pie and today we tried something slightly different. We baked it in the slow cooker instead of the oven. Mainly because it’s so hot out and our air conditioner is already working overtime ;)

Healthy Snack Options

The Diet SolutionMy friend and Registered Dietitian Isabel De Los Rios, author of “The Diet Solution Program” has been kind enough to share some of her healthy snack options with us today. Try them for yourself and share them with your family.

Sesame Chicken Fingers

4 ounces boneless, skinless chicken breast sliced into 4 strips
¼ teaspoon low-sodium soy sauce
¼ teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon water
1 tablespoon turmeric
1 tablespoon toasted black and white sesame seeds

In a small bowl, marinate the chicken with the soy sauce, mustard, water, and turmeric up to 1 hour. Coat the chicken with sesame seeds.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Place the chicken in a nonstick baking pan.

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until chicken strips are cooked through.

Scrambled Egg Whites and Veggies

One of the common complaints that I hear when it comes to eating healthy to achieve fat loss is that it takes too long to prepare each meal. That couldn’t be further from the truth. The majority of the meals that I eat take less than 10 minutes to prepare and I cook enough to last through several meals. Here is one of my favorite meals. It’s kind of a scrambled egg white and veggie concoction.
