How To Create Empowering Beliefs For Fat Loss Success

For the next sixty seconds eliminate the distractions around you, close your eyes, and visualize the body that you have been dreaming of achieving during your transformation journey. Picture the definition in your shoulders as you wear a strapless gown. Picture your chiseled abs as you toss a Frisbee to your dog on the beach. How great do you feel in that moment? Soak in all the emotions that you experience from this process.
Now as you open your eyes and come back to reality what thoughts are going through your mind? Are you excited to achieve this very worthy goal? Are you 100% certain that this will finally be the time when you accomplish your desired body transformation? Do you believe with every ounce of your being that you are capable of achieving this goal by the date that you have recorded on your goal card? Do you believe that no matter what obstacle you may face during this transformation, you will find a way to go around it, over it, under it, or blast right through it?
Are you experiencing any doubt in your abilities to achieve your body transformation goal? Are you reflecting on past experiences where you didn’t quite achieve your objectives? Maybe you always seem to sabotage yourself just when the going gets good? Are you concerned that your under-active thyroid may prevent you from sculpting the body that you desire? Are you worried that you may be too old to burn the fat from your waistline?
As Tom once shared with me, “Beliefs can either hold you back or they can free you and pull you forward.”

Tom shared this great example during one of our interviews… He said, “Lets say that you deeply believe that eating fruits and vegetables will give you perfect health and energy, and you deeply believe that white flour and sugar is slowly poisoning you to death. If you begin a behavior, such as reaching for a bag of M & M’s and this violates these deep beliefs and values you won’t have to use will power to stop yourself.”
If you believe some of the fat loss ‘experts’ who say that cardio is long, boring, and should be avoided, chances are pretty good that you won’t be crossing my path as I jog along a nature trail, even if it can have a positive impact on your fat loss success.
If you deeply believe that pushing yourself just a little harder with each workout will continuously boost your metabolism and leave your body with no other choice but to transform and become better than it is today… I guarantee that no matter how tired you are feeling, you will pull out all the stops in order to give your very best effort during your workout.
Family and freedom are two of my most prized and cherished values. I have attached my family’s happiness and freedom to the effort that I put into my workouts. This isn’t something that I wrote down on a piece of paper just once and forgot about. This is something that I repeat to myself every morning when I wake up and just prior to my workouts.
If I don’t give my very best effort during the workout it hurts much more than any kind of hurt that I can experience while pushing my limits with each exercise, set, and rep. If I’m not progressing with my workouts I feel like I’m letting my family down.
Although it may seem that my goal is to please others by working out, it’s not necessarily the case. Because my personal value of family is so strong, the satisfaction that I get out of making them happy and providing them with freedom is much greater than the happiness that they experience from my efforts.
It’s important to know what you value most in life. Freedom? Love? Family? Health? Once you become aware of these values use them to cross examine your limiting beliefs.
When you’re out with your friends and they suggest that you “Live a LITTLE” and indulge in a burger, fries, and banana split along with a few pints of beer, you need to decide if this behavior is in alignment with your most cherished values in life.
Do you believe that by following their suggestion you will will receive exactly what they state, “Living a LITTLE”. Do you believe that by making healthier choices you can have even more fun and do what you really want, which is “Living a LOT!” and enjoying the best quality of life possible?
Are you beginning to see how your beliefs are influencing every decision you make and that you have the power within you to alter your beliefs to serve you?
You must realize that nothing is holding you back from the success that you deserve except the limiting beliefs that you are holding onto. It’s time to let those limiting beliefs go and replace them with new beliefs that will set you free and pull you forward.
