How Have You Dealt With Body Image During and After Pregnancy
by Scott Tousignant · Filed Under: Fat Loss Quickie Motivation
I recently had a great discussion about dealing with body image during and after pregnancy with my good friend and weight loss coach Marna Thall of Thin Within.
If you are a mom or have a “bun in the oven” right now, we would really love to hear your thoughts and see you participate in this very important discussion.
Marna and Josh brought their little miracle Addison into the world recently and knowing that Marna is a mindset specialist I wanted to see how the experience of going through pregnancy impacted her mind and body image.
So I got her on the phone for a quickie 18 minute interview which you can listen to by clicking on the audio player below or downloading it to your mp3 player and listen to it while you enjoy being active.
In this interview we discussed…
a) How Marna dealt with the initial weight gain especially since she had considered her tummy as being her ’sexy spot’.
b) How patience and taking the process day by day makes the journey more enjoyable.
c) How to shift your mindset and have a positive attitude that your body may never look the same… it may actually look better
d) Why your skinny jeans may still not fit even though you have released all the ‘baby fat’.
e) The importance of celebrating all the small victories along the way.
f) The importance of taking action, making the right food choices, and engaging in physical activity.
g) How Marna is dealing with her abs separating during her pregnancy
h) The cool trick that Marna used to push your head mentally more than where your body is ready to go physically
i) How to love yourself through this process with the words that you use and the actions that you take.
j) How living the ‘Naturally Thin’ lifestyle prior to pregnancy impacted her choices and actions during and after pregnancy.
During our discussion Marna made a comment that is still resonating in my mind. She mentioned that now that she is a mom she feels an added responsibility to herself and to her daughter Addision. This responsibility has created a sort of mental ‘checking in’ process as she makes her food choices. She wants to make sure that they are both being taken care of optimally. While experiencing sleep deprivation during these first couple months Marna realizes the important role that nutritious foods play in providing her with the fuel and energy to get her through the day.
I just absolutely love the mindset that Marna has and how she views food. Shifting your thoughts about food, your beliefs about food, and how you view food, will have a tremendous impact on your body and health.
We would love to hear your thoughts and feedback after you listen to our 18 minute interview. How have you dealt with body image during and after pregnancy? What did Marna share with you that really resonated with you?
You are absolutely amazing!
To achieving your limitless potential,

Scott Tousignant
PS Calorie counting and following strict routines is something that has worked incredibly well for me and for many others, but it’s definitely not for everyone.
If you are looking for a more ‘natural’ method for weight loss I highly recommend that you follow Marna’s advice and programs. A great place to start is with Marna’s 30 Day Blaster Challenge
PPS Marna and I will be doing many more interviews together. Our next interview will be on the topic of overeating and how you can deal with it. If there are specific topics that you would like us to cover please share them with us in the comment box below.
