Dan ReinholdHere’s your weekly work-at-home-humor guest post from my buddy Dan Reinhold…

You work at home. You’re stressed out about all you need to do, the refrigerator is calling “Yoohooooo” and your house feels like a zoo.

Boo hoo!

Still, you’ve got your reasons and you’re determined to see it through. Busy, busy, busy!

If you’re reading this, more congratulations are in order. Getting and staying in better shape is oh so important to maintaining yourself, but also your business. Scott’s home office fitness program helps…a LOT.

But remember, health and fitness is more than wiggling your tushie and munching sensibly.

Ever since the correlation was first discovered, scientists have been heaping up a big pile of evidence that stress is bad for you. Recently they restated the obvious, but also added that there’s bad stress (distress) and good stress (eustress). Eustress includes exercise.

And exercise includes…laughter.

Laughter is fantastic exercise. Remember your last good laugh? The way you felt? You got more good than you knew, and for nothing! Endorphins, serotonin, a little ab workout, some good oxygen uptake. You didn’t even need to change into your gym shorts.

Here’s my tips for adding some good, quick WAHumor style workouts to your day:

If you have kids, pets, spouses/significant others/snugglebunnies, friends and/or family in your workday, you have sources of both kinds of stress. Look a little bit harder for the humor and indulge yourself in a show of appreciation. Even a smile when you think about it is good for you!

Get goofy when you’re about to snap. Dance the Hokey Pokey with your kids… teenagers included, the look on their faces alone is worth it, or the dog, the hermit crab, but not the mailman or the cat. It’d stress them out, trust me.

Visit WAHumor.com. Grab a chuckle, leave a comment. Ask a question, make suggestions! We’re dedicated to “The Light Side” of the stress issue. If you ever hear of a Darth Dan, I guarantee it won’t be me.

Scott must’ve known I was good for something after all, or he wouldn’t have invited me to be a regular guest blogger here. Now if he could just convince my wife of that…

P.S. I’ve been seeing a lot of challenges lately and even taken part in a few. I have an idea for a challenge of my own…
