A Day In The Life Of Scott and Angie Tousignant

Angie and I have a favor to ask of you today. We are about to record a complete week of behind the scenes video, revealing what we eat, some of our workouts, how we get motivated and inspire each other, and how we live an active and healthy lifestyle.
We would greatly appreciate it if you took a moment of your valuable time to let us know if there is anything specific that you would like to see us reveal in our videos to help you achieve the body that you deserve.
We are asking for your help because your answers will allow us to record the most information packed videos possible and provide you with the REAL solution that you deserve.
Thanks a million! We owe you one

(OMG, what gorgeous kids. Didn’t even know you had kids, with those bodies of yours). I would like to know when, if ever, you eat for just ‘pleasure’, rather than always being aware and focussed on health and fitness issues? Or are the two intertwined for you by now? I have conquered the cookies, white bread addiction, and feel quite good (still have dark chocolate, which is a much better option), but sometimes wonder if I should ‘indulge’ with friends (even the dark chocolate)just to be sociable? Is that encouraging a bad habit (food should have nothing to do with sociable, right? But maybe is should. Not sure). Would love your answer as you look amazing, you two. Thanks. Esther

More about Angie’s eating tips for enjoying treats in moderation and still maintaining a lean bod! Samples of her meal plan would be awesome. You guys rock!
How do you inspire your spouse to eat right and exercise without insulting them?
What do you do when only one of you is around and the kids have to go in opposite directions? And what do you do when you are tired, there’s nothing in the house (I know shouldn’t happen if you plan ahead) and everyone is starving?
I enjoy the tips you both are putting out.
More healthy snacks which cover things from sweet to salty cravings.
post and pre workout nutrition.
Your take on supplements, which ones you think work, which ones are a waste of money
full body workouts, or split workouts.
I already find the inspirational quality of your posts excellent and very motivational! One question I have though is how to balance out health vs losing weight. I’ve been battling with gallstones which is frustrating because then I want to slow down my weight loss simply because of health. (I was eating a bit too much protein low carbs). I’m frustrated by it because that has been the best way for me to lose weight.
Also, I appreciate any tips from Angie on the dreaded thigh area…and did she notice a change in her body in her thirties? I am 31 and have definitely noticed it seems harder to shift the weight now.
Thanks for your great content!
Jen
Very simple meals are of interest to me. A salad or something microwavable and ready in 5 minutes.
How about a way to “split” a traditional meal with a healthy one. I try to make healthy foods for the family but sometimes they just balk at it. If there were a few suggestions about alternative sides or making something with sauces on the sides that would be a big help. Your posts and info are already very helpful, thanks!
It would be interesting to have a discussion about sleep habits. Sometimes we get so busy that sleep patterns get messed with. Thank you kindly!
Appreciate your emails and other useful things.
I would love it if you could demonstrate some leg strength-building that don’t involve squats or lunges or things that cause pain in these ancient knees. Can do?
Hi I would like to know what exercises help to take away loose skin all over the body. I have quite a bit of weight to lose and my fear is that I will have loose skin hanging all over and I want to be able to do the best I can to get rid of it. As long as I know I have done all I can to tone up the best that I can with the information that I have received I will be happy. Thank you for all of your help in this weight loss journey.
I’d like to see you guys actually work out, and talk about how often you work out, how you change it up after time for the long term, etc. How often you change it up…
Also, like most, meal info, recipe ideas, overall strategies for long term pleasurable eating for a lifetime. (I think I have this down myself, but I still like to glean from others and I know a lot of people need maybe more specifics on how you actually transition to it being a lifestyle without worrying about every bite that goes in.) I’m a foodie and LOVE good food and have enjoyed the recipes I’ve seen you share. I’m also 48 female, gourmet cook, mother of two college age kids and have abs that show most of the year.
Got any good snack or food tips when you’re out and about? (i.e. I go to grocery store and buy cut up celery & carrot sticks and hummus, bag of almonds and consider it lunch if I’m on the go.)
A quick but effective workout at home to combat the: “I’m tired and had a long day so instead of working out I’ll just rest tonight and promise to go to the gym tomorrow!” excuse.
If I don’t exercise first thing in the morning I find that I quickly lose the ability and/or the willpower to actually get out and exercise when I get home. It would be great to have a set of quick but effective short programs to help counter this — sure, you had a long day of meetings and you’re tired, but instead of collapsing on the couch, if you just did this 10 minute burst you could then feel less guilty that your day got away from you or you were just too tired to stop at the gym.
Hi guys,
Congrats on all the effort you have done.
It would be great to show all how do you keep up track of weight, body composition, all the meals & calories & the workout w dumbells lb’s and the cardio you make everyday.
Also based on this metrics, what do you look for or take care of, when you see a significant change in your body composition.
Thank you for all your support
Cheers
I would like to know what you do when you’re doing all the right things and you’re not making any progress in keeping your weight down. Or maybe that doesn’t happen to you.
The hardest patr of any program is getting started and staying motivated. We all want the end result and need to recognise its hard work, but how do we take that first small step and keep it going?
Always appreciate the emails.
How to stay motivated.
I really appreciate all of your practical tips especially because I know you both lead very busy lives with your two little ones.
I would love to hear about what you do when you are tempted to eat for reasons other than hunger, for example, when you are angry, stressed, emotional or tired. Also, if you’ve ever found yourself in a funk, how have you gotten out of it. Thanks!
I’d also love to see any new vision boards you’ve done.
Scott –
Morning rituals have long been a part of my ’success process’, I would love for you to share yours – how exactly do you start your day. Again, thanks for all you do.
PEACE, Sam
I agree with Joe above what do you do about sweet and salty cravings? Any healthy snack ideas for these cravings?
Hi, I’d like to know how much protein is too much protein. Thank you.
More recipes and tips for getting rid of belly fat.
Thx
would love to know more about reducing & toning on the bottom part of the body (stomach, thighs, buttocks) and women’s arms. Tx!
I am a very busy Grandma, I watch my grandkids 3-4 times a week. I need exercises for the abs ezpecially….some really good ones that don’t require a lot of time. Sometimes I only have 15-20 minutes to myself. Can you recommend some good ones? Thank you very much for being her to help us.
working the flab on the upper arm and strengthing around the shoulder / knee joint … which of those upper body workouts will help with posture ‘cos a great posture makes those abs look even better … and lastly fun workouts that you and the kids can do together
I’d love to know how you “don’t feel any guilt” on those rare occasions when you do stray away from your eating program and notice you’ve put on a little fat. On the occasions that I do “fall off the wagon” I feel so guilty and can’t get past it – even if I’ve still lost a pound or two and it’s a planned treat meal.
Plus, what’s the best way to tone up the inner and back of thighs?
Hi Scott,
I admire your teamwork in tackling your fat loss problems, but how to stay motivated when you’re on your own and the email motivation tips don’t really do the trick? How to sustain a program without a partner to help out or a group to push you on?
Any advice on how to maintain a fitness regime going solo?
How about a rock bottom beginner’s exercise routine for someone who is only beginning the journey of a “comeback” from hell? Maybe there is someone out there who has simply given up for a long period of time and has gained a trendous amount of weight and can not even consider P90X, 10 minute trainer, – but desires to do something and has no clue where to begin or how. There are all of these fabulous “insanity” workouts out there but those are not geared to the majority of people out here who are 100 pounds over weight and sedintary!
Put something out there that is strictly for absolutel rock bottom beginners and slowly ramps them up incrementally level to level.
Merits of young coconut juice during workouts… seems to work on my hangovers! How soon after a workout can you eat? If you are working out 7pm in the evenings (aerobic, fat burn)- is it better to eat before, after or a little of both? If so what would you eat before, during and after?
Hi Scott and Angie – It’s my pleasure to follow you for a week and see how you do it – I continue to be a work in process – want to get some insight on how you stay “on track”
have a blessed day and looking forward to your videos
When and what you eat in relationship to your workouts.
I’m always inspired by your work with older clients—I’m a mere 67 but may get old one day! Could you include some easy but useful “warm-ups”and “cool downs”?—-I sometimes find the time necessary for these dicourages me from starting a workout when I have a limited “window of opportunity!
Keep up the good work! Caroline.
I would like to know what food you eat on your cheat days, also Abs exercises.
Keep up the great work! Thanks.
Hi, I didn’t read all the posts if this is a duplicate:
1) I am losing definition while losing weight. Perhaps good exercises aimed at this…
2) Importance of low-calorie protein, carb free snacks, if possible for satiety and muscle function.
3) Abs. Good toning – non-bulking stuff. [Read: bring on the 8, man.]
Thanks, Scott…ya’ll are awesome.

I think what would be great is to show how and what do you do to prepare yourself when you are going on vacation and you want to stick to regimen but cut yourself some slack so you can enjoy yourself.
Also, any meal planning such as dinners that are tasty and good for the whole family to enjoy even though say the kids are not on a diet or fitness regimen.
How to keep any negative self talk down.
How much pre-planning do you do for meals and/or workouts even working in a backup plan should something like life happens and throws you a little curve ball.
On the go workouts you can do and take with you anywhere in the world especially if you are not sure if there is a gym or any equipment where you are going. I think this would be exceptionally helpful for those of us that travel for business a lot.
Any whole food supplement advice you may have or recommendations – that is if you take any!
Organic grocery shopping advice especially if you are on a budget.
That’s the list for now. I can’t think of anything else. Thanks a lot Angie and Scott.
Oh wait one more – Advice for couples where 1 is on a fitness kick (such as myself with my ultimate goal of competing in either a bikini or figure competition by next year) and the other is not – he wants to say where he is at which is fine for him but is not very supportive and sometimes (either consciously or sub-consciously) tries to sabotage the person’s effort.
I at least got him to stop sabotaging me for a while but sometimes it’s just downright lonely but I do recognize that there may be others in a worst situation than myself so I figured if you have any insight as a couple that would definitely help others.
Now I am done – I promise!!
A comment was left earlier regarding how to get your spouse to eat healthy and exercise with you without insulting them…I second that! I really need help in this area too. The two of you are very lucky that you have each other for motivation, not all of us have a participating significant other!
I would love to see you guys in a supermarket while you shop, and just show what you guys like to buy for a healthy kitchen.
Thanks
Hi!
I think it is so great that you two can inspire each other to be healthy and fit! But for myself, I have a husband that does not place eating right or exercise at the top of his list. It is really hard when he always wants me to eat what he does and I know its not good for me. I feel like I always have to tell him “I’m on a diet” so he won’t pressure me to eat bad food. And when I tell him that he should be eating better and exercising he always has an excuse, or he does but never sticks with it, or he gets sad and says I’m a nag and am not attracted to him. I feel stuck.
What do you suggest?
I would like to know about your family meals and what the kids eat:-) I would also like to see your day to day motivation to keep going.
Hi Scott and Angie,
I would like to know the kind of diet that’s most effective for losing fat and building muscle, right down to the specifics like number of calories, macronutrient ratios, and micronutrients as well.
What do you do when you have to socialise and eat at restaurants or some place outside? What kind of foods do you choose when you have to eat out?
Is it possible to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time? If it is possible, how?
Thank you very much!
Please include stretching techniques/practices/habits. Pre & post workout… on rest days …@ wake up or before bed, that sort of thing. I have just started training and definitely want to be smart about avoiding any injuries.
More about Angie’s eating plans and how she manages to eat a few sweets and still look so good. Also is it possible to eat REAL food and lose weight?
(eg full fat dairy etc without going low carb?) And lastly how to eat
around short multiple exercise sessions in a day.
Hi Scott and Angie,
First, thanks for the great material you guys put out. It is a “real life” system that people with a busy life can follow to get in shape and have a healthier lifestyle.
I would like to see more of Angie’s workouts (not that I don’t like you, Scott), and also have a better sense of how long you guys work out in a typical day/week.
Thanks.
Hi Scott,
Thanks fir opportunity to input to your video..
I would like you to cover the same things that Marylin has mentioned; how to cook quick family evening meals when we both come in from work and have a seven and eleven year old.
Also how can i get my wife more involved in my fitness routine, when she is working hard and is tired in the evenings and waits as long as possible in bed in the morning before having to get up.
I would also like some exerciess that do not put pressure on my lower back as dead lifts cause pain.
Cheers
Paul
Hey guys! I Love getting everything you send out and so I think this is great that you want our opinions on what we might like to see.
As a girl I completely plan on having kids one day, I guess then that most of my questions are for Angie on how she was able to work of the ‘mommy gut’ or love handles that some women get and have such a great body! its incredibley inspiring to me because I am a dancer and so much of the work I go into will be with body image. I want to have kids though and dont want to worry about not being able to dance afterwards. So simplified, my questions are ones such as did you simply follow the 20 minute workouts and just eat healthy? is there another secret to your great body? and how do you continue to work out and keep yourself looking that great time wise once you have children?
Thank you Again for all the wonderful knowledge and inspiration you are constantly sending out! I know that I benefit from it every day!
My question is why exercising doesn’t cause weight loss?
Just thought of another question What do you think of “Splenda”?
Ditto about eating/preparing dinners that are tasty, easy and good for the whole family and for someone who hates cooking.
Ditto also about shopping on a budget, feeding a family of 10.
Also exercises that are sport/activity specific, for example I like to get in shape for hiking.
Hi Scott and Angie, first of all I would like to say how much appreciation I do have to your family life style. You stay together every time you have the opportunity and this is great! Please, inform us how you plan your meals and groceries? This is very important and most of people really depreciate it. Greetings!
Hi to all of you and you are a beautiful family!
Scott and Angie, this is my question or these are my questions how does one begin a lifestyle change like yours? What are the various programs besides your own that you both follow? How do you get a bodies like those from your news letters those are awesome abdominals for both of you?
Angie, this question is for you what are you following to look the way you do and is there anything you could advise to look this way I mean I want everything less chest also!!!!!
I just do not like what I see in the mirror and would like to know exactly what you do to look so excellent workouts and all?
Thank you for all of the information you and Scott could provide!!!!
Have a great weekend!!!!
Hills
Scott & Angie,
Do you guys work out together…ever, sometimes, all the time? I’ve asked my husband to work out together, maybe get up before the kids do to work out before they are up, or when they are at school. He isn’t at all interested. I feel like having a workout partner would help us both get some consistency in our workouts since our work schedules make that challenging. If we could at least motivate each other when we are both home, maybe when I’m traveling it would be easier to work out on my own. Any suggestions for how he might find working out together motivational instead of something he’s not interested in since he’s used to working out alone?
Thanks, Paula
Angie,
How do you combat water weight and bloat? It get’s very frustrating when you step on the scale some days and you’re up 2.2 lbs from the day before. (Just happened last week). Intellectually I know it’s water and I know it will level out but emotionally it’s a killer sometimes.
I’ve shyed away from Creatine for just that reason even though I really want to try it to enhance my workouts I’m afraid of the excess water.
On that nore, what supplements do you use and do you use them “in order”? I take certain supps at different times of day depending on my workout schedule for that day.
Thanks guys! You’re the best!
Body weight workouts for travellers would be great.
Plateau, plateau, plateau…
I am down to my desired weight, but far from my desired shape. Sure, the change is fantastic thus far, but can’t seem to move the last bits – outer thigh, love handles, lower belly pouch, mini muffin top…
My eating is healthier than ever, I still work out religiously and mix it up with sprint intervals, body weight workouts and weights – how relevant is the quantity and timing of food intake even if it’s totally wholefoods and supportive? I feel like this could be my last possible hope even though I don’t feel like I overeat…
Love your work guys!
Full on receipes meals from morning to evening with different options. My problem is I’m a very picky eater I don’t eat fish, I know, I know it is so good for me and I wish I loved it but I just can’t eat it. I don’t care for cold cuts I can only handle turkey and it has to be super fresh no pre packaged stuff. Makes it real hard to pack a lunch.
Hi,
Enjoy reading your blog and appreciate seeing your exercise videos. I would like to see some recipes that don’t have cheese because I can’t eat cheese, but I do eat yogurt.
Thanks
