You work at home. You’re stressed out about all you need to do, the refrigerator is calling “Yoohooooo” and your house feels like a zoo.

Fitness Lessons From My 10 Years Of Marriage

Scott and Angie TousignantToday, October 23rd I am celebrating my tenth wedding anniversary to my beautiful, loving, generous, brilliant, and radiant wife Angie. It’s been the best 10 years of my life, but it certainly hasn’t been a smooth and perfect road. As I sit here reflecting on the past 10 years, all of our experiences, and all of our accomplishments, I can’t help but see the comparisons between a successful marriage and success in fitness.

9 Similarities Between Successful Marriage and Successful Fat Loss

Initial Excitement

Successful Marriages and successful fat loss programs begin with the initial excitement about the journey ahead. Your focus is on all of the wonderful things that you are going to experience and the positive impact that it will have on your life.

I remember when Angie and I first got married. We rarely had arguments, we were head over heels for each other, and I thought that nothing could possibly go wrong. I was totally fixated on all the amazing things that we were going to experience as a couple.

This is often the case when you begin a fat loss program. The initial excitement can blind you from the possible setbacks that you will most likely face.

Overcoming Challenges and Setbacks

Speaking of setbacks, this is another similarity between marriage and fat loss.

Boy oh boy have Angie and I ever faced some massive challenges such as

Fun Fitness and Motivation

When you are attempting to get from point A to point B it makes sense to take the path of least resistance. In our fast paced, time crunched society most of us would be grateful for any opportunity to arrive at our destination faster. But there’s a price that we are paying for this type of mindset?
laziness
I’m absolutely floored when I see someone get in their car so they can drive around the block to the corner store.

I’ve witnessed countless people fight over a parking spot that is closer to the store entrance even though there is another one open just three spots down.

I have seen a crowd of people wait ten minutes for an elevator when it would have taken them just one minute to walk up three flights of stairs.

Have we really become that lazy? What are the consequences of continuing on this path?

The Home Office Fitness Pioneer

Dan ReinholdI’m excited to introduce a new feature of the Fat Loss Quickie Blog. My friend Dan Reinhold will be providing you with a daily dose of Work-At-Home-Humor. You already know that I love to make fitness fun and adding Dan’s witty humor into the mix is sure to make our home office fitness experience even more enjoyable.

For Dan’s opening act he did some research to see if I was the home office fitness pioneer. He dug deep and discovered that someone did in fact pave the path ahead of me. Check this out…

Hi, I’m Dan Reinhold of WAHumor.com, the work at home humor site.

So you think Scott is the home office fitness pioneer? Think again!

First there was Adam. Hey, that sounds familiar…

You’re Never Too Old For A Quickie

Home WorkoutHave you been allowing your age to get in the way of experiencing a fast and fun quickie? Get your head out of the gutter… I’m talking about a Fat Loss Quickie home office workout ;)

Age should never stop you from beginning a fitness program. One of my personal training clients Bill Willson and his wife Pat started working out with me at the age of 80. Bill had never worked out a day in his life prior to our first session. He will be 90 years young this upcoming June and he is stronger than ever, plus he has more balance and more confidence in his abilities.

In the beginning Bill was a little nervous about performing exercises on a stability ball. He wasn’t confident enough in his balance and was scared that he may fall off the ball. But that didn’t stop him…

Bill stepped outside of his comfort zone and embraced the ‘unstable’ environment of working out on a stability ball. As a result his body quickly adapted and today he can perform nearly anything that I ask him to do on a balance ball.

Check out this video of Bill performing a quickie…

Bill and Pat have been my only personal training clients for the past few years when I transitioned my fitness business from offline to online. During this time I haven’t accepted any new personal training clients. That was until a few weeks ago when I was approached by an 87 year old woman who lives in the same condo as Bill and Pat.

She had been

How a Blog Tour and Guest Blogging Can Transform Your Business

For 6 weeks during the months of November and December I will be going on a Blog World Tour and contributing guest blog posts on some totally awesome blogs. You’ll be the first to hear which blogs I’ll be posting at and get all the inside scoop on prizes that I’ll be giving away during the Blog World Tour.

Blog Tour with Nicole DeanThis idea was inspired by my dear friend Nicole Dean. During the summer of ‘09 she went on a 15 week Blog World Tour which really caught my attention. I started seeing her featured on many of my favorite blogs and I immediately thought, “What an awesome idea and a great way to reach a specific target audience and gain more exposure”.

Nicole had become a “Rock Star”. She was generating incredible buzz and people were even talking about her blog world tour at live events. I wanted in on this action and to become a “Rock Star” myself ;)

Creating 6 weeks of incredible content during my upcoming blog world tour is going to be a lot of work and I wanted to make sure that I maximized this opportunity. Trouble is, I wasn’t sure exactly how to do that. Until now…
